Progress Post #31 - April 26, 20194/26/2019 This week, we finally started our next projects. I decided to paint my bathroom and describe places where women are especially conscious of their femininity and their identity as women. I decided to make it very chunky and monochromatic because I believe that contributes to a more oppressive and aggressive nature of the painting. I really like how it's starting, mostly because I love the texture, and I really liked Coach's idea of doing sketches of my bathroom on some nice paper and displaying it with the painting. I have discovered that painting with medium is very very tedious.

Progress Post #30 - April 19, 20194/19/2019 This week was home project critiques. I came up with the genius plan to put my acne wipes in the container that they came in, but I ripped off the label and painted the container with an azalea (which is the flower I have been embroidering on these wipes). I like how it came together, but I am super unsure about how I want to display it. I am not sure that there is a good way for me to put this up without having a massive exhibition with other work like it. By itself, this piece is not necessarily monumental unless people are able to touch it and interact with it and actively understand its message. I was kind of thinking of making a sculptural piece with these embroidered wipes by placing them on wire coming out of the container? Although I am unsure if that would be effective in communicating my message.
Progress Post #29 - April 12, 20194/12/2019 This week we started to plan for our next project. I am super confused and unsure about what I want to do, but I know I want to paint and on a very large scale because I am tired of working small. I definitely want to continue my commentary on women, but I want to branch out of painting people and paint more landscapes or environments or still lifes. I also want there to be texture. Maybe I will have an epiphany? My home project is going great. I have made a couple more flowers, and I am really relaxing while making these. It is super soothing to just embroider and watch TV. Some of my craftsmanship got a little sad, and some of the makeup wipes definitely warped, but it's not as bad as the first one so I am considering it a win. I need to figure out a way to display these and hold them so they don't get lost.
