Progress Post #10 - December 14th, 201812/14/2018 Since we had literally one class due to snow, I did the majority of the sculpture at home. Although not pictured, I added a bunch of red thread which kind of reminds me of skin irritation and i really like it. I sewed in a makeup wipe which is MY FAVORITE ELEMENT of this sculpture and I actually really enjoyed sewing makeup wipes together? That sounds weird, but it was very relaxing. I kind of want to make more art with makeup wipes and maybe sewing unconventional objects together. I'm not really sure yet. I think the sculpture is really nice although it does not exactly resemble my painting. I think both could be stand-alone pieces but are vey effective together. This is probably my favorite project yet.

Progress Post #9 - December 7th, 201812/7/2018 I did it. I painted the hand. I also painted the rest of the painting. I finished, and I am really happy with it. The colors are really outlandish and crazy, but that's what I like about it. I am really happy with my light pink background, and I think it was a good decision. I am thinking about adding a sculptural element to the painting because I want to incorporate my actual makeup wipes, but that will be difficult if it's just a painting. Maybe a sculpture of my face?
Progress Post #8 - November 30, 201812/4/2018 This week, we started working on the actual project. I painted the face which I am very satisfied with. I used arbitrary colors to convey how skin does not really matter in the presentation of one's face. The colors erase all of my imperfections. I also started painting the hand but it LOOKS REALLY BAD !!! I was using cheap and watery paints so that may explain why the hand is semi translucent and how the colors did not blend how I wanted them to. I think I am going to use the nice golden paints next week. I also don't know how to incorporate my makeup wipes into the work or what to put in the background. Progress Post #7 - November 16th, 201812/4/2018 This week, we went to plaza to get supplies for our third quarter project. I decided to paint my skin care routine with multimedia elements included that are pertinent to my content. I wanted to comment on body image and the pressure that people have to have good skin in our current society. As someone who has struggled with acne, I believe that me painting my skin care routine will be therapeutic as well as reflective. I think I am going to do around 5 canvases although I have acquired 10 (the rest of the 5 can go to my funny project).
