Progress Post #10 - October 25, 201910/25/2019 This week, I refined the face, left arm, and background. I really like how I have done the face, and there is such a big improvement from last time. My hypothesis that once I add the blue shadows and the hair, it would look 100 times better, was 100% correct. The background is extra chunky now after I have added all of my leftover white paint from every painting session.

Progress Post #9 - October 18, 201910/18/2019 I started working on the face, and it is going terribly. The shadows are very difficult, and the colors do not seem to align with those of the body. I keep mixing different skin tones which messes with the unity and balance of my painting. The left arm is still a little wonky even after I worked on it for a whole class, but I think I can fix it by adding more layers to the lighter areas. I hope the face will start to look less awful when I begin defining it with the blue. Progress Post #8 - October 18, 201910/18/2019 I have almost finished the body! I am struggling a lot with the left arm, but I think I painted the waist and the chest pretty accurately and expressively. I really like my use of arbitrary colors, but I think my blue might have switched halfway through because the bottom reads like Pthalo but the top reads like Ultramarine. I chose to paint the background white which I am pretty sure was the right decision because it draws all of the attention to the figure. The little traces of color in white and the slight chunkiness really adds a nice texture and dimension to my background. I need to work on the right nipple because it is so outlandish and bright. Progress Post #9 - October 18, 201910/18/2019 My home project is coming along nicely. I edited my script numerous times to make it equal parts casual, informative, and interesting. I think I am going to film sometime in the next two weeks, so I have adequate time to edit. I am having a little difficulty planning what day to sit down and get the video done because I am so busy and I need natural light to film. author.jacqueline. she/her. senior. virginia, usa. art v. archives.
